A Very Merry Christmas

Well it seems that we were all "good" this year as Santa and the Mrs. were awfully generous to the Bjarnason household. They must have known that leaving coal for Rollie wouldn't be a good idea - he'd just eat it! Grandma and Grandpa Woodworth came over for Christmas Eve and spent the night in our luxury suite (aka the living room). We feasted on turkey and all the trimmings that go with it. After dinner we opened presents...Lilja loved the wrapping paper and was pretty good at opening her own gifts. The next morning we got up to open the gifts that Santa left in our stockings.

In front of her stockpile!

MINE!

Oooohhh...look at my pretty new shirt! How did they know I love horses??

Hmmm...I wonder what is in here?

My own horse dishes! What's to eat??

Love my new outfits, but this tag tastes divine! Thank you Amma and Afi!

"What did you get Grandpa...can I have the tag when you are done?"

Lilja helps dress Rollie in his new leash and collar.

Grandma W. and Lilja (in one of her new outfits from Amma and new booties from Grandma W.) Tres chic!

Rollie's favorite new toy. Yes, that is a tire (for dogs). Maybe when he's 2, he'll get another and have his own wheels!

We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and we wish you a Happy New Year!

Can you dig it?

Lilja and Rollie had their first trip to the ocean just a few days before Christmas. We piled into the trailblazer (looked like we were going for weeks with the amount of stuff we brought) and caravaned with GW & KW down to Pacific Beach for the razor clam tide on Friday night. We had awesome weather while we dug. Each of us got our limit within 20 minutes...they were just thick and not as many people as usual. Rollie and Kona had quite the time romping around in the dunes and all that good ocean air put Lilja to sleep. We stayed at our favorite little A-frame for the night and headed back home the next day. Rollie found the beach to be yet another place to feast on whatever he could find...including, but not limited to clams shells, crab shells, seaweed, kelp, etc.

The dogs were in awe of the size of Kris' clam!

Christmas Quiz

Who looks like they are enjoying their new Santa outfit more?

OR

(The anti-aging cream that Mrs. Claus has been using appears to be working!)

It's Christmas time here in the Bjarnason household. We are pretty excited for Lilja's first Christmas, even though she has no clue what's going on. I'm sure she'll love all the paper her gifts are wrapped in. She already got to open her gift from Aunt Bodie...it is the rocking horse that she is on in the above picture. Absolutely adorable and it neighs and makes galloping noises!! It will be Rollie's first Christmas too AND he turns one on December 27. Only one more year of puppydom...or should I say puppyDUMB?

Lilja has been enjoying the eating thing, although I don't know that her body is quite ready for bananas. We had some....shall we say "irregular" issues last week, but nothing that a few pureed prunes couldn't fix! Guess we will lay off of the naners for awhile. Here we are enjoying some of those poop producers!

Because I'm a good sport...I will put this picture of Lilja in her Minnesota Wild outfit (from Randy and Sara) on...even though her favorite hockey team is the Colorado Avalanche.

All I Want for Christmas...

Looks like she found what she wanted!

We survived the 2007 Flood

Thank goodness if finally stopped raining. I don't think Rollie's bladder could have made it much longer! We did have some leaking of the chimney, but that is nothing compared to others. For that we are very thankful.

Grandma W. surprised Lilja with a pre-Christmas gift this last week - she is a lucky little girl (both grandparents are going to spoil her rotten). This is her 2nd quilt already. (Don't tell Grandpa Woodworth though...he is still waiting for his to be made.)

Isn't she showing it off nicely? A little bit of Vanna White in her!

We visited some friends last week - a certain 10 year old named Yazi, was kind enough to share something with Lilja. Can you guess what it was??

I think more got on her face than in her mouth.

Typical evening at the Bjarnason's.

Lilja: "hey...whose play mat is this anyways..."
Rollie: "it says it is for 0-12 months..."

PATHETIC

Need I say more?

Well maybe I do...it has been pouring down rain here and Rollie won't go out to relieve himself...yes he is a wimp. So, I kindly made him this rain coat out of a garbage bag...you can see he wasn't buying it! Can he get any closer to the door???

More Firsts

We have had many "firsts" this week. Lilja (Rollie and Kona) had their first taste of snow, Grandpa Woodworth was even able to make a snowman (in which Rollie ate the nose after this picture).

Kona and Rollie playin in the snow

We went out tree shopping yesterday and purchased a beautiful noble fir for the "kids" first Christmas. Kris and Grandpa W. worked diligently on getting the lights up first thing. Here Lilja inspects to make sure that the lights are hung properly.

After we got the tree up it was time for a meal of pureed carrots - yum yum! Apparently she couldn't get enough of those carrots...says a lot about my cooking!!! Let's hope she continues to be an adventurous and healthy eater (just like her dad).

Yes that is her tongue...and yes, she is licking the tray!

Her newest "thing" is making bird like noises. Something like...awk awk. Oh the noises they can make and the volume at which they are made...I'm sure it only gets better and louder.

Household Rivalry

Who would Lilja choose???

Versus

The proof is in the puddin.....

Thanks to KK and Paul for sending Lilja this cute onesie of her favorite team! Go Colorado Avalanche! The previous pictures of Lilja sleeping during hockey obviously were games of other teams that she wasn't interested in.

Thankful at Thanksgiving

We have a lot more to be thankful for this year! Lilja, our families, each other, Rollie (and no new rock incidents), our home....just to name a few. We had a very nice time (and lots of food) at Grandma and Grandpa Woodworth's. Lilja had her first taste of sweet potato - not sure what the verdict was - but she did keep most of it in her mouth. We played a mean game of Parcheesi - of course Kris who has never played it....WON! Good times.

Waiting patiently for dinner!

Christmas came early for Lilja this week...she received a package from Amma and Afi Bjarnason with 2 new adorable outfits....just in time for the holidays!

She had her 6 month check up last week and her official stats are:
  • 15 lbs, 7 oz
  • 25 inches long
  • 68th percentile for head size (genius)
  • 22nd percentile for height (hello WNBA)
  • 35th percentile for weight (svelte)

Lilja: "What do you think of my big blue bracelet?"
Rollie: "Nevermind that...I can't get over the smell down here!"

6 Month Birthday Celebration

We Bjarnason's really know how to party it up! Lilja's 6 month party can be summed up in one picture (see below).

As you can see, both kids (Lilja and Rollie) found the hockey game that Daddy was watching so fascinating that they zonked out.

Interesting facts about Lilja at her ripe old age of 6 months:
  • Still wears 0-3 mo clothing and some 3-6 mo (must be her long legs)
  • Babbles nonstop
  • Naps well, but doesn't like to go to sleep before 11:00 PM (on a good night)
  • Slobbers nonstop
  • Loves Rollie's ears
  • Thinks she wants to eat big people food...not going there yet
  • Sits up on her own...for about 45 seconds
  • Hasn't had a nasty blow out since she pooped on Tom S. at Afi David's retirement party
The fun never stops here! Another picture to prove it.

So precious!

Lilja - "Come play with me on my mat."
Rollie - "OK...whoa...something smells down there..."

Almost six months...and Sassy!

We are in disbelief that Lilja is almost 6 months already. It certainly doesn't seem like it's been half a year since she was born, but on the other hand it feels like it was years ago and we are old pros at this parenting thing (right....)! She entertains us with her incessant babbling (will she say mama or dada first...), her adorable little giggle (especially when Rollie or Kona lick her), and her contagious smile (she gets that from her daddy). She is almost sitting up on her own and can roll from back to tummy - tummy to back. It is such a joy to watch her develop, but bittersweet at the same time.

Some recent pictures.

Living it up in the Sassy Swing (thanks to Sheri & Yazi)

Bundled up for a walk - her legs are longer than they appear

Watching "Hockey Night in Canada" with Daddy - she's reeeeaallll interested!

It's a TIGGER!

I wasn't going to dress her up...but couldn't resist after finding this costume.

KK and Paul Visit

We were sad to see Auntie KK and Uncle Paul go home...it was so much fun to have them here...bums me out that they live so far away! Lilja is so lucky to have such loving family around her...and the pictures to prove it!
